Job Description

The Jaeckle Centre, an equine performance and rehabilitation facility located in Thompsons Station, Tennessee, is seeking a dependable and self-motivated individual to support the upkeep and daily operations of our property. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment across our grounds and facilities.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and can balance routine tasks with hands-on problem solving. You will work near horses in a professional setting, contributing to the overall quality and presentation of the facility. You will report directly to the Facilities Manager and help maintain consistent standards across the property.

This role supports a large, multi-use equine facility that includes barns, arenas, paddocks, and specialized rehabilitation areas.

Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Availability: Occasional on-call support required, including holidays as needed

Your Role:

• Maintain grounds including trimming and general landscaping to keep the property clean and well-presented
• Perform routine property upkeep, including fencing, barns, pathways, and drainage systems
• Assist with seasonal projects and property improvements as priorities shift throughout the year
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tractors, mowers, and hand tools safely and responsibly
• Keep work areas organized and support overall cleanliness of the facility
• Identify maintenance needs and take appropriate action or communicate clearly when support is needed
• Prioritize and complete tasks independently based on urgency and overall property needs
• Respond to urgent property issues as they arise, including occasional on-call situations related to weather or facility conditions
• Provide occasional support for on-site residences, assisting with routine maintenance or property-related needs

Success in this role means maintaining a property that is consistently clean, functional, and ready for daily operations without needing close supervision.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

• Has hands-on experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or general property maintenance, or can quickly learn and apply these skills
• Operates basic equipment and tools safely and takes care of them between uses
• Takes ownership of assigned areas and follows through on tasks without needing reminders
• Works productively outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining consistent output
• Notices issues that affect the appearance or function of the property and addresses them proactively
• Approaches problems with practical thinking and follows through on solutions
• Shows up consistently and completes work as expected
• Is able to perform physically demanding work and remains aware of surroundings to maintain a safe working environment
• Is willing to undergo a background check and drug screening
• Is comfortable working around horses or in a farm environment

Bonus (not required):

• Ability to handle basic repairs or maintenance tasks without supervision
