CRHC is looking for a full time (40 hours/week) Facilities Logistics & Transportation Technician. This position's schedule is Monday through Friday, hours may be flexible.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for Advancing Exceptional Care by prioritizing Safety and Quality in every aspect of patient care. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent - Preferred
- Valid driver’s license - Required
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record - Required
- Ability to operate hospital vehicles - Required
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules

WORK SCHEDULE & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:
The facility operates 24/7; however, work schedules may vary based on departmental needs to ensure the highest standard of patient care and operational efficiency. Flexibility will be expected.
- On-call availability as needed.
- Weekend and Holiday rotation as needed.
- Eligible for shift differentials where applicable
- Position is classified as non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with labor laws.

Courier and Delivery Services
- Delivers medications from Retail Pharmacy to patients, clinics, and other locations.
- Picks up and delivers laboratory specimens between clinics, hospital departments, and reference laboratories.
- Follows all policies related to laboratory specimen transport, medication transport, and chain-of-custody procedures, including required timeframes and handling conditions.
- Picks up and distributes incoming and outgoing mail for hospital departments and clinics.
- Transports documents, bank deposits, mail, supplies, medical records, and equipment between hospital departments and off-site locations.
- Makes routine scheduled trips to outreach clinics including Villisca, Bedford, Mental Health Clinic, and other CRHC locations.
- Maintains delivery logs, signatures, and chain-of-custody documentation when required.
- Ensures proper handling, storage, and transport of medications and lab specimens.
- Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance during transport of patient information or medications.
- Maintains delivery schedules and completes routes in a timely manner.
- Loads, unloads, and transports supplies, mail, lab specimens, medications, and equipment using carts, dollies, and other equipment as needed.
Vehicle and Driving Responsibilities
- Operates hospital vehicles safely and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Maintains a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with CRHC Policy.
- Must be insurable under the hospital’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Comply with all traffic laws, hospital vehicle policies, and safety procedures.
- Performs routine vehicle inspections including fuel level, cleanliness, tire condition, and reporting maintenance needs.
- Maintains vehicle mileage logs and route documentation.
- Reports accidents, vehicle damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns immediately.
- Drives hospital vehicles between hospital departments, clinics, community locations, post office, bank, and patient homes as required.
- Works in various weather conditions including rain, snow, ice, heat, and cold temperatures.
Operational Support
- Assists departments with moving supplies, equipment, furniture, and materials.
- Assists Plant Operations or Facilities with basic tasks when not performing deliveries.
- Assists with supply deliveries, stocking, and general operational support.
- Supports hospital operations during emergencies, weather events, or facility needs.
Quality Program Participation
- Actively participates in CRHC’s Quality Program, committees, performance improvement initiatives, and operational support activities.
- Demonstrates a commitment to Quality Improvement (QI) practices.
- Regularly attends Department huddles.
- Completes tasks as outlined on the Department Huddle Board.
Other Responsibilities
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support the strategic initiatives of CRHC.
