Facilities Maintenance Assistant Manager (Aerospace Manufacturing)

JCM seeks a highly detailed, Facilities Maintenance Manager with experience in a high production manufacturing facility (aerospace preferred) to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of our facility, equipment, and machinery. In this leadership role, you will plan, coordinate, and direct all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability, minimize downtime, and support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. This position supervises a team of maintenance technicians and collaborates with cross-functional departments to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment

Essential Job Function/Requirements:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

· Manage the maintenance department, delegating tasks, and ensuring work is completed.

· Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex problems across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems with a specific focus on FANUC control systems.

· Preventative maintenance by developing and implementing schedules for routine tasks.

· Assess and manage the inventory of critical spare parts and other maintenance related consumables.

· Collaborate with Production and Quality Assurance to address recurring equipment issues and improve overall efficiency.

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company standards as well as OSHA and other government regulations.

· Develop, implement and track a comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled downtime.

· Work with vendors and suppliers to source parts and services for equipment repair.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work order records and technical documentation.

· Oversee building maintenance

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and schedules to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Supervise, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Plan and manage repair, installation, and preventive maintenance activities, including responding to emergencies and coordinating with vendors.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze maintenance data, and recommend improvements or capital projects for continuous optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies; lead safety training and audits.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, solicit vendor bids, and control costs while maintaining inventory of supplies and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex issues and integrate new technologies or asset management systems to enhance efficiency.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years experience as a Facilities Maintenance Manager including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; experience in manufacturing, facilities, or industrial settings is highly desirable.

· Familiarity with environmental compliance (e.g., EPA standards) in industrial facilities

Skills & Knowledge:

· Extensive experience in manufacturing maintenance role

· Knowledge of FANUC controls, including the ability to perform in depth diagnostic and repair

· Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Experience with PLCs and ladder logic.

  • Basic welding, fabrication, and machine operation skills are often required for repairs
  • Strong organization and time management skills to prioritize maintenance tasks

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company standards as well as OSHA and other government regulations.

· Ability to work in fast paced workflow and adapt to changing priorities

· Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary Range:

  • $90k-$110k
  • Full-time
  • Exempt

The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only. Actual pay offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
