JOB OBJECTIVES
To plan, coordinate, and oversee the maintenance, repair and construction of all City of Forest Grove facilities including an aquatic center; to supervise assigned staff performing maintenance and janitorial work; to assist with building transitions and improvements, including service contracts and construction projects; to manage vendors and consultants, and coordinate with all city departments regarding building and facility services; to maintain and operate tools and equipment and fill in for janitorial staff as needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Assistant City Manager.
Exercises direct, functional and technical supervision over janitorial and maintenance staff. Oversees service venders and contractors engaged in repair and maintenance of City facilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential job functions.
Environment: Indoor and outdoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, chemicals, cleaning agents, cold and hot temperatures, mechanical hazards, computer screens. Incumbents often travel from work site to work site and may interact with the public in the daily operation of their duties. Must be available for on-call evening and weekend work as needed.
Mobility: Incumbent requires maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; heavy (up to 50 lbs.), moderate or light lifting and carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling; reaching, climbing, and operating motorized equipment. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate motorized equipment and vehicles.
Vision, Hearing and Communication: Vision sufficient to distinguish colors, read printed documents and labels on equipment and supplies, computer screens and operate assigned machinery and equipment. Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone.
