Facilities Maintenance Tech III

Primary Function

The primary function of a Facility Maintenance Operator is to provide professional electrical and general maintenance support for the buildings, grounds and equipment that are required to maintain a safe, attractive, clean and fully functional facility.

Reporting and Accountability

The Facility Maintenance Operator reports to, and is accountable to, the Facility and Grounds Maintenance Manager.

Authority

The Facility Maintenance Operator has the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other responsibilities of the Facility and Grounds maintenance department, as delegated by the Manager.

Physical Requirements

  • Adequate physical agility to traverse the entire facility for inspection, including climbing stairs.
  • Adequate physical agility to perform normal maintenance activities such as climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, crouching, twisting, bending and reaching, lifting, using hand tools, power tools and motorized equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to walk up to 6 miles per day.
  • Able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Ability to tolerate being on feet for extended periods of time (standing and walking on hard surfaces)

Educational Requirements

  • Specialized training in specific maintenance areas is a plus and may positively affect an individual’s job level.

Other Requirements

  • Basic mechanical ability and dexterity
  • Prefer maintenance experience in facilities similar to GHSR: Pool, locker rooms, showers, athletic club, lawns, trees, shrubs, sprinkler systems, parking, and intensive exposure to the recreational public.
  • Adequate computer skills to be able to perform necessary department computer tasks (for example, logging maintenance activities, inputting time records, inputting preventative maintenance and service information, etc.)
  • Current and valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record.

Work Hours and Days

Since the maintenance of the facilities takes place both during operating and non-operating hours, the Facility maintenance operator’s work hours and days must be flexible, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the Facility Maintenance Department.
