Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
Cal-Aurum Industries is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support production operations through the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and process equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and fluid-handling systems, particularly those used in metal finishing and chemical processing environments. The ideal candidate is self-directed, safety-conscious, and capable of diagnosing issues across heaters, pumps, rectifiers, filters, and other production systems essential to plating operations.

Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on heaters (Process Technology, PTFE, and stainless models), Lutz and Penguin pumps, rectifiers (Staco and Brush units), and filter systems. • Replace or service parts such as drive shafts, impellers, seals, thermocouples, switches, and temperature controllers. • Maintain calibration and certification compliance on rectifiers and instrumentation per company procedures (e.g., CAI SPS 08-01-0701).
Troubleshooting & Repair • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in rectifiers, motors, heaters, and control systems. • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild pumps (Lutz, Penguin, Jabsco, Grundfos) including seals, bearings, and impellers. • Troubleshoot power supply and thermal control issues across process tanks and temperature controllers (Watlow, DE20, DQ15D, etc.). • Support facilities-level systems such as air compressors, exhaust fans, and lighting as needed.
Documentation & Process Control • Maintain maintenance logs and equipment service histories. • Coordinate part sourcing and vendor communications with Purchasing and Production. • Follow safety procedures when handling corrosive chemicals and high-voltage equipment.
Facilities Support • Support general facility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, ventilation, and emergency system checks. • Assist in installation or relocation of equipment, ensuring proper electrical and plumbing connections.

Requirements
Education & Experience • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. • 3+ years’ experience in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical processing maintenance.
Technical Skills • Strong working knowledge of: • Electrical systems (AC/DC power, 120V–480V, 1- & 3-phase) • Rectifiers, transformers, and process heaters • Drum, centrifugal, and vertical immersion pumps • Temperature controls, thermocouples, and flow systems • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. • Experience with tools for testing voltage, current, and resistance (multimeters, clamp meters, etc.).
Physical & Safety Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments. • Comfortable working around chemicals, acids, and heated solutions with appropriate PPE. • Familiarity with OSHA and environmental safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in plating, chemical processing, or wastewater systems. • Familiarity with brands such as Process Technology, Penguin, Lutz, Staco, Jabsco, and Grundfos. • Understanding of preventive maintenance software or CMMS systems. • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance emergencies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.40 - $29.38 per hour
