Facilities Maintenance Technician

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), mechanical components, and plumbing issues promptly.
• Conduct welding repairs and perform residential painting as needed to maintain facility aesthetics and safety standards.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory.
• Operate testing tools such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and ensure system integrity.
• Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, including supervising team members or contractors when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests efficiently and professionally.
• Lead small teams in manufacturing or facilities environments to complete maintenance tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
• Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding techniques, electrical systems, and residential painting.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing.
• Supervising experience or leadership skills to guide team members or contractors during projects.
• Strong communication skills in English to clearly document work activities and collaborate with team members.
• Experience with CMMS software for work order management is preferred.
• Ability to read schematics accurately and follow safety procedures diligently.
