Integrated Service Solutions (ISS) is a leading service provider within the UK Fresh Produce sector, operating multiple sites across Kent. We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, efficiency and reliability of our facilities across several locations.
This is a hands‑on, varied role ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work independently while supporting a busy operational environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to facilities, buildings and equipment
- Conducting regular inspections of buildings, grounds and equipment to identify issues early
- Responding promptly to reactive and emergency maintenance requests
- Working closely with site teams to schedule maintenance with minimal operational disruption
- Managing and overseeing external contractors for specialist works
- Ensuring contractors and visitors are safe and supported on site
- Keeping maintenance schedules, records and logs accurate and up to date
- Supporting facility upgrades, refurbishments and improvement projects
- Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company policies
- Managing maintenance tools, materials and stock levels
- Supporting continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures
- Carrying out additional reasonable tasks within the scope of the role
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualification in carpentry, plumbing, engineering or a related trade
- Ability to investigate and resolve basic electrical faults
- Proven experience in a facilities maintenance or similar role
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication
- Physical ability to carry out manual tasks and lifting where required
- Willingness to travel between sites and work flexible hours
