SUMMARY:
The Facilities Supervisor at The Bridge will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational needs of our 4-acre campus, which include six buildings and various external areas. With limited employee resources, this individual must demonstrate effective leadership and innovative problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. This role requires a hands-on approach to supervising employee daily activities, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for The Bridge employees, Guests, and visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Team Management
·Supervise and Manage: Lead a small team of maintenance employees, providing guidance, support, and hands-on assistance when necessary.
·Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and trainer for Team members and housekeeping equipment, helping to develop their skills in maintenance and facility operations.
· Schedule and Delegate: Create and manage work schedules, ensuring proper staffing to meet operational needs, even with limited resources.
· Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide employee feedback to encourage continuous improvement among the Facilities Team.
Facilities Operations and Maintenance
·Daily Facility Oversight: Oversee daily building and grounds operations, ensuring The Bridge facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional.
·Preventative Maintenance: Implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
·Repairs and Upkeep: Coordinate and perform repairs, equipment servicing, and general upkeep of all facilities, both internally and externally.
·Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for repairs, supplies, and services as needed.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
·Safety Standards: Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, fire safety, and local building codes.
·Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response protocols, including fire evacuation plans and disaster recovery strategies.
·Inspections: Conduct regular safety and maintenance inspections to identify potential hazards or issues and implement corrective action(s).
Resource Management
·Budget Management: Work closely with the Director of Operations to manage the Facilities budget, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently.
·Inventory Control: Maintain an accurate inventory of all tools, supplies, and equipment to ensure operations can be conducted smoothly without disruption.
·Strategic Resource Allocation: Identify cost-effective solutions to meet facility needs with limited employees and budget, maximizing the efficiency of resources.
Project Management
·Facility Improvements: Plan and execute facility improvement projects, such as remodeling, energy-saving initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades.
·Timeline Management: Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, minimizing disruption to day-to-day activities at The Bridge.
·Communication: Communicate and coordinate with appropriate The Bridge Departments, co-located services providers, and stakeholders regarding project timelines, updates, and impacts on operations.
Sustainability Initiatives
·Energy Efficiency: Identify and implement sustainable practices to reduce energy consumption and improve the overall efficiency of building operations.
·Waste Management: Oversee waste disposal and recycling programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to promote sustainability across the campus.
Collaboration and Communication
·Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with other The Bridge Departments (such as Housekeeping, Security, Services, and Administration) to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities across the facility.
·Reporting: Regularly report to the Director of Operations regarding facility conditions, repairs, project status, and Team performance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
·Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
·Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Facilities Management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
·Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other essential building systems.
·Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a Team, especially with limited resources.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex facility-related issues, employee conflict, and possess demonstrated capacity to implement effective solutions under pressure.
· Communication: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various disciplines and Departments.
· Time Management: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Certifications: Certification in HVAC or Plumbing is preferred but not required.
·License: Must have a valid Driver’s License.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, and operating maintenance equipment.
