Facilities Supervisor

Job Description
Reporting to an Operational Leader, the Facilities Supervisor performs supervisory work involving Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) custodial and maintenance teams. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the overall cleanliness of all facilities and the day-to-day mechanical functioning of physical facilities. The Facilities Supervisor works closely with other members of the Facilities Team including Maintenance Assistants and Custodians along with maintaining working relationships with Clubhouse Leadership and other organizational staff. The Facilities Supervisor may occasionally be required to complete maintenance and/or custodial tasks.
The essential job duties for this role include:
Supervision
  • Supervises Facilities professionals including training employees in proper maintenance and custodial procedures under established safety guidelines for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, ladders and lifts, cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals.
  • Develops and implements cleaning and maintenance plans, project calendars, assignments, task lists and schedules.
  • Utilizes ticketing system to ensure repairs, work orders, requests, etc. that are assigned to Facilities team are completed in a timely manner. Spot checks completed cleanings and repairs for quality. Assists with projects as needed.
  • Evaluates Facilities professionals to promote professional growth and ensure adherence to BGCSNV policies and standards.
  • Maintains Facilities workshop and storage areas in a clean, organized and professional manner.
  • May participate in the recruitment, selection and hiring of custodial and maintenance professionals.
  • Performs site inspections to ensure facility cleanliness and compliance with safety standards including the proper posting of material safety data sheets (MSDS) and cleaning procedures as well as ensuring the appropriate use of bio-hazard waste containers.

Administrative Duties
  • Manages cleaning and maintenance equipment inventories and repairs. Maintains vendor relations for repairs.
  • Oversees and prepares vendor orders for purchasing, receiving, and stocking supplies, materials, and equipment for the Facilities Department.
  • Participates in the creation of the annual Facilities budget related to custodial and maintenance services. Responsible for maintaining working knowledge of the budget and adhering to BGCSNV fiscal policy with relation to custodial and maintenance services.
Other Duties
  • May occasionally be required to complete maintenance and/or custodial tasks.
  • May be required to assist with BGCSNV special events.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Three years of related custodial and/or general maintenance experience
  • Thorough knowledge in the safe use of cleaning chemicals, oils or petroleum products, solvents, degreasers, pesticides, herbicides and other similar products
  • General knowledge in the proper use of personal protective equipment
  • General knowledge in the safe methods of lifting and using ladders
  • General knowledge of the MSDS system
  • Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints and handle multiple demands
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public, vendors and other professional staff
  • Able to work occasional irregular or extended hours
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.)
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license and a good driving record. Use of personal vehicle may be required with reimbursement for mileage at standard IRS rates.
