Schedule: Monday-Friday 0830-1700 with other shifts as needed

JOB SUMMARY:

The apprenticeship will develop the knowledge and skills in the non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning equipment, and other related facilities trades at a level not requiring formal licensure but with direct supervision and instruction of a Facilities Support Technician I or above. Must be insurable by TriCore’s insurance carrier.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists with and learns to perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and related components.

2. Assists with and learns to repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical and related systems.

3. Assists with and learns to repair and maintain facilities structures; to perform minor repairs to building plumbing, electrical systems, door hardware, fire, life and safety protection equipment/systems; to conduct structural inspections for safety.

4. Assists with and learns routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paint interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.

5. Perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.

6. Assists with and learns to document facilities maintenance requirements; maintain appropriate records of work performed.

7. Perform snow removal/ice melt as required.

8. Handle hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Specific training requirements are documented in TriCore’s Waste Management Plan, SAF-011.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • None

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Driving required. • Must be insurable by TriCore’s insurance carrier.

PREFERENCES:

  • Understanding of maintenance practices is desirable.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS:

Prove immunity to Hepatitis B or be immunized or sign a waiver refusing hepatitis immunization. Provide documentation of a PPD test conducted not more than 90 days prior to date of hire or have a PPD test conducted.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

2. Handle hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Specific training requirements are documented in TriCore’s Waste Management Plan, SAF-011.

3. Participate in continuing education programs.

4. Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure quality standards are met.

5. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

6. Valid NM Driver's license and must be insurable by lab insurance carrier.

7. Familiar with Windows operating systems: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
