Job Summary

The Facilities Technician will maintain efficient and smooth operation of the physical jobsite. This position is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of company equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Experience in building, maintaining and repairing infrastructure equipment to include, but not limited to, generators, power distribution units (PDU), uninterruptible power systems (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS) and HVAC systems.
  • Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
  • Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
  • Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
  • Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facilities.
  • Participates on Emergency Preparedness and Safety teams.
  • Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of principles of air conditioning and heating.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

  • At least five years of related work experience in building facility mechanics and electrical systems.
  • Maintenance Connection Building Management System Access.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • HVAC and EPA license preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Suite.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel.
