Facilities Technician - Day Shift

SUMMARY:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the hands-on execution of facility repairs and small projects within the Duncan manufacturing facility. This role assists with coordinating repairs, maintaining work orders, supporting safety initiatives, and ensuring the building and grounds are clean, safe, and operational. This position works closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and internal departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and oversee building maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of facility
  • Receive, track, and follow up on facility work orders
  • Perform basic electrical work such as lighting replacement, outlet installation, minor wiring repairs within scope of training
  • Perform minor HVAC troubleshooting and filter changes
  • Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance activities
  • Coordinate external contractors and vendors (janitorial, landscaping, HVAC, waste removal, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local/state regulations
  • Independently execute small facilities projects from start to finish
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify repair or safety issues
  • Support safety initiatives and participate in safety audits
  • Maintain facility documentation, service records, and equipment logs
  • Respond to facility requests and escalate complex issues
  • Respond to facility emergencies if needed
  • Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the facilities function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate experience in commercial electrical, plumbing, and general construction
  • Skill in operation of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to safely drive various vehicles.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, etc.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Employee must have a working knowledge of manufacturing/facilities environment. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.

Minimum Requirement:

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of facilities or building maintenance experience required
  • HVAC experience a plus
  • Certification as required/Determined by Assessment

Preferred:

  • 2 year A.S. degree in Facilities Management/ Maintenance

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instructions and basic directions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence accurately.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
  • Able to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Able to lift 75lbs
  • Frequent bending at waist/knees, frequent twisting waist/neck in normal range.
  • Frequent climbing and balancing while working on ladders.
  • Constant use of hearing/sight/speech ability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.

  • Will require walking the plant floor regularly
  • Work in manufacturing environment
