
Facility Engineer – Hospital Infrastructure
Location: Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain

A respected private hospital in Bahrain is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Engineer to join its technical operations team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all hospital systems, directly supporting high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, improvement, and emergency readiness of the hospital’s critical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, and medical gas systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance of all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, fire safety, and backup power)
- Supervise external contractors and ensure all activities comply with safety and performance standards
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize system reliability and longevity
- Monitor and manage the operation of diesel generators, UPS systems, and switchgear
- Troubleshoot and respond to emergency system failures to minimize downtime and risk
- Maintain up-to-date logs, documentation, and performance records of facility systems
- Assist with budgeting for maintenance projects and capital upgrades
- Liaise with clinical and administrative departments to align infrastructure with operational needs
- Support the planning and execution of capital improvement and renovation projects
- Ensure compliance with local codes, hospital safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facility Engineering (Diploma holders with strong experience will also be considered)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital facilities management or complex infrastructure systems
- Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, medical gas, and generator systems
- Experience managing contractors and service providers
- Familiarity with BMS, CAD tools, and maintenance management software is an advantage
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent issues
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of healthcare safety standards and maintenance compliance protocols
