Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of building systems, structures, machinery, and grounds. This includes work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other facility-related systems to ensure a safe, functional, and clean environment for occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems.
- Conduct plumbing repairs and installs.
- Replace lighting components and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Assist with heating and cooling system operation and maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of mechanical and utility rooms.
- Work with outside contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supply inventory.
- Document maintenance activities and report safety or structural concerns.
- Collaborate with production to support operational needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in building or facility maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs+, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
