Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, solutions-driven Facility Technician who thrives on solving problems and tackling a wide variety of hands-on projects. This role goes beyond traditional maintenance—ideal candidates bring strong mechanical and construction experience, along with the creativity and resourcefulness to deliver professional, lasting solutions across diverse repair and improvement tasks.
You will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and improving facilities through both scheduled maintenance and one-time projects. From troubleshooting complex issues to executing finish work, this position requires a well-rounded individual who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and facility components
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, implementing effective and lasting solutions
- Drywall installation, patching, and repair
- Interior and exterior painting
- Fixture installation (lighting, hardware, appliances, etc.)
- Minor plumbing repairs (leaks, fixture replacement, drainage issues)
- Electrical troubleshooting and basic repairs
- Door installation and repair
- Gutter maintenance and repair
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support repair and installation work
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, ohmmeters) to identify and resolve electrical or mechanical issues
- Execute small construction or renovation projects independently or as part of a team
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting safety codes and quality expectations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and project work using CMMS or similar systems (if applicable)
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and clients to understand needs and provide updates on progress
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or handyman services
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in multiple trades
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, basic wiring, and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with drywall, painting, carpentry, and general repair work
- Basic plumbing knowledge and repair capability
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Proficiency with common hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and adapt to unique challenges
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering professional-quality results
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license (if travel between sites is required)
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
