Facilties Janitor/Groundskeeper

Position Summary

Metal Finishing Group is seeking a reliable and hardworking Facilities Janitor / Groundskeeper to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of our manufacturing facilities and grounds. This position is responsible for supporting daily housekeeping, facility upkeep, and grounds maintenance at our primary facility and one associated facility. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment for employees and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning and Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, conference rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout facility buildings.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms and employee areas.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility damage to management.

Groundskeeping Duties

• Maintain facility grounds, parking lots, walkways, and outdoor work areas.
• Pick up litter and debris from facility grounds.
• Perform basic landscaping duties including weed removal, trimming, and watering as assigned.
• Keep entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas clean and presentable.
• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance projects.

General Facility Support

• Assist with facility organization and housekeeping projects.
• Move supplies, furniture, and equipment as needed.
• Support special cleaning projects and facility improvement initiatives.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, groundskeeping, or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to push, pull, and move cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the workday.

Work Environment

This position works in both manufacturing and office environments and will routinely travel between Metal Finishing Group's primary facility and one associated facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
