We are looking for a strategic-minded, aggressive individual to lead our Factory Operations as Factory Manager in Drayton, ND . The purpose of this position is to directly manage total factory operations which includes production, maintenance, capital projects, engineering, product quality, and environmental to ensure the sugar and agri-products produced meet the high-quality standards while maintaining maximum processing efficiency and minimizing per unit cost.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and promote a positive work culture through Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
  • Directs production activities for beet campaigns to produce high quality sugar and agri-products, at the lowest unit cost to contribute to the Company’s profitability.
  • Ensures safe and sanitary working conditions by strictly enforcing all Company and regulatory agency policies.
  • Identifies changes in factory operation that will improve product efficiencies and quality while reducing costs.
  • Ensures the security of the factory site.
  • Promotes a favorable work environment through sound labor management.
  • Directs maintenance and capital projects with the Maintenance Superintendent and Factory Engineers to ensure profitable operations. Provides strategic direction for capital investment at the factory.
  • Oversees wastewater management to ensure minimal generation during the processing season, and sufficient discharge to avoid factory shutdowns.
  • Ensures all environmental systems are in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Develops management and union personnel through training and work experience to improve skills and factory performance. Ensures implementation of all factory training programs.
  • Key communicator of factory activities to Senior Corporate personnel and to local factory staff.
  • Establish development plans for management staff and communicate related training needs to Corporate Human Resources.

To be successful in this position requires a seasoned manager with extensive knowledge of the food processing industry typically gained through seven to ten years of progressive responsibility and work experience in a sugar or food production environment with an educational background in Engineering, Chemistry or a related technical field. Strong business skills, communication, administration, planning, budgeting, and accounting skills are required.

Compensation Range:

$175,140.56 - $218,925.70 Annual Salary
