Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and experienced Faculty Member in Pathology to join the General Medicine Program. The role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in basic and clinical pathology, supporting student development, and contributing to research and academic excellence in line with accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver Pathology lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials to medical students.
- Cover core areas including:
- General Pathology
- Systemic Pathology
- Histopathology
- Clinical Pathology (as applicable)
- Facilitate laboratory sessions using slides, specimens, and digital pathology tools.
- Apply integrated teaching approaches (CBL/PBL where applicable).
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital platforms effectively.
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft).
- Maintain accurate academic records (attendance, grades, reports).
Student Support & Academic Development
- Provide academic advising and mentoring.
- Support students in understanding disease mechanisms and clinical correlations.
- Monitor performance and provide timely feedback.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct and publish research in pathology or related fields.
- Participate in academic conferences and research initiatives.
- Contribute to the institution's research culture.
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA).
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Prepare course and program reports.
Collaboration & Engagement
- Participate in academic committees and departmental meetings.
- Collaborate with basic and clinical faculty for integrated teaching.
Requirements
- PhD in Pathology or related medical field.
- MBBS with specialization in Pathology is mandatory.
- Experience teaching Pathology in a medical or health sciences program.
- Familiarity with integrated curriculum and modern teaching methods.
- Experience with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools.
