Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and motivated Faculty Member to join the Respiratory Therapy Program. The role focuses on delivering high-quality academic and clinical education, supporting student development, and contributing to research and academic excellence in alignment with accreditation and institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Clinical Education
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and clinical training within the Respiratory Therapy Program
- Supervise students during clinical rotations and practical training activities
- Facilitate case-based learning, simulation activities, and respiratory care skills training
- Teach evidence-based respiratory therapy practices across various clinical settings
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools effectively
- Prepare and administer assessments, assignments, practical exams, and clinical evaluations
- Maintain accurate academic and clinical records
Student Support & Development
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
- Support development of clinical reasoning, patient care, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Participate in research, academic conferences, and scholarly activities
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA)
- Participate in quality assurance activities, committees, and program reporting
- Submit course files and required academic documentation on time
Community Engagement
- Participate in respiratory health awareness campaigns, outreach initiatives, and healthcare programs aligned with the college mission
Requirements
- PhD in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Valid professional license/registration (where applicable)
- Clinical experience in respiratory therapy practice required
- Teaching experience in higher education preferred
- Familiarity with simulation-based teaching and educational technologies
- Experience with LMS (Blackboard) and digital learning platforms
