As an HR Intern, you’ll gain real-world experience in recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement while supporting a mission-driven nonprofit. This is an opportunity to build your HR skills, grow your professional network, and contribute to meaningful work in the mental health field.
Schedule: Flexible, part-time (10–20 hours/week during business hours, M–F)
Location: EveryMind Headquarters, Rockville, MD
You’ll support the HR and Talent Acquisition team with recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee programs.
Key Responsibilities

Post open positions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and conduct professional reference checks.

Coordinate job fairs and hiring events: send invitations, manage logistics, and support candidates.

Assist with onboarding new hires, including setting up HRIS records, co-leading orientations, preparing materials, and completing I-9 documentation.

Create and audit employee files to ensure HR and regulatory compliance.

Edit and update job descriptions across the organization.

Qualifications

Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Interest in recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ATS or HRIS a plus.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team environment.
