Family Assistant / Household Manager

Role OverviewHousehold operator responsible for errands, scheduling, and coordination across family and home. This role removes day-to-day friction, keeps systems organized, and ensures tasks are completed without follow-up.

Core Responsibilities

Errands and Logistics

  • Shopping pickups and returns
  • Grocery shopping and putting away groceries
  • Pharmacy pickups
  • Gift purchasing, wrapping, and delivery
  • Home supply runs and restocking
  • Mail collection, package handling, trash coordination
  • Vehicle tasks, fuel, cleaning, service scheduling

Household Operations

  • Prepare home for guests
  • Coordinate cleaners, lawn care, and other vendors
  • Schedule maintenance and repairs
  • Organize closets, storage, and garage
  • Light household support, laundry swaps, dishes, small fixes

Scheduling and Coordination

  • Manage personal and family calendar
  • Book appointments, medical, personal, services
  • Handle phone calls and confirmations
  • Coordinate childcare, activities, and events
  • Pet appointments and care coordination

Food and Planning

  • Assist with grocery planning and ordering
  • Meal planning and light prep work
  • Support kids’ lunches and weekly prep

Admin and Organization

  • Email triage and basic responses
  • Maintain task lists and recurring checklists
  • Track and complete ongoing to-do items
  • Basic bill tracking and organization

Travel and Events

  • Plan travel, flights, hotels, itineraries
  • Assist with packing and preparation
  • Coordinate holidays, events, and mailings

Projects and One-Off Tasks

  • Handle backlog household tasks
  • Assist with real estate transaction coordination
  • Complete ad hoc tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Able to manage multiple tasks without constant direction
  • Strong communication and reliability
  • Comfortable running errands and coordinating vendors
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Background

  • Personal assistant, executive assistant, nanny, or household manager experience
  • Experience with scheduling, coordination, or operations

Structure

  • Hourly position
  • Mileage reimbursed for errands
  • Weekly schedule with flexibility
  • 60 to 90 day trial period
