REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or another related field is required. Prior home visiting experience preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule, including home visits. Valid Kansas driver's license is required.
Bilinguals (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
DUTIES:
As a Family Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting low-income families with children age three to five. Key responsibilities include:
- Build positive, supportive relationships with families.
- Conduct home visits to assess needs and set goals.
- Connect families to community resources and services.
- Support family engagement, attendance, and parent involvement activities.
- Assist with enrollment and meet documentation requirements.
- Partner with teachers to support children's learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with Head Start standards.
SALARY:
Based on years of experience and education.
Classified Salary Schedule - Range 23.
Base pay starts at $21.35/hr.
