Family Development Coach

Community Mediation Services, Inc. is seeking qualified Family Development Coaches to provide case management and coaching to fathers in our Fatherhood Program, operating at our Jamaica headquarters and Queensbridge Houses site in Long Island City. This program is designed to support fathers in strengthening relationships with their children, co-parents, and communities while promoting self-sufficiency. Fathers will be engaged in a combination of case management, parenting skills training, support groups, family events, and community projects. Coaches will help fathers navigate housing, employment, child support, education, and family relationships, supporting them to meet their goals.

Some responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a caseload of approximately 35 fathers/families at a time
• Conducting intakes, assessments, and monthly case management meetings.
• Developing and tracking Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Referring fathers to housing, employment, education, and legal services.
• Documenting client contacts and maintaining participant progress notes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field and at least two years of experience in family development, fatherhood programming, or justice-related services; OR an associate’s degree with significant related experience
• Case management and/or counseling experience
• Strong interpersonal, advocacy, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with NYC Systems (courts, housing, benefits, workforce, etc.) preferred
• Must be available to work full-time with flexibility based on program needs (including evenings and occasional weekends).

Base Pay: From $56,500.00 per year
