Family Law Paralegal

This is an in-person position. No remote work available.

Family Law Firm is seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to join one of our legal teams. This position requires a minimum of two (2) years family law experience. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability and experience to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, conduct legal research, and other tasks that may arise. You will be working directly with an attorney.

Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm. You will be required to bill at least 6 hours a day.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Communicating with clients
• Income and expense declarations
• Prepare petition of response
• Prepare basic discovery
• Prepare trial briefs
• Property declarations
• Daily meeting with your lead attorney
• Other paralegal duties as they arise

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of court forms, Lawyaw, Outlook, XSpouse, e-filing, and legal research.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Experience with MyCase a plus
• Organized, self-starter who can work independently but also be a team player
• Strong written and verbal skills are required
• Phone etiquette, professionalism, professional demeanor, dress, and speech required
• Must be reliable and possess integrity
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Available to work overtime when necessary.
• Must have thick skin, be courteous and have the ability to multi-task and stay focused in a fast paced environment.
• Must live in the San Diego area or have relocated prior to beginning position.
• Must have reliable transportation

Hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with occasional overtime when necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
