Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and organization of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Maintain document management systems and ensure all files are organized and up to date
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare and file legal documents with the court system
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court appearances for attorneys
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
- Perform general clerical duties, such as answering phones, managing emails, and handling mail
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal in family law is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in using document management systems and legal software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures in family law cases
- Knowledge of court rules and procedures for filing documents
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
