Family Law Paralegal

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in family law and demonstrate proficiency in various legal practices. This role involves supporting attorneys with case management, legal research, document preparation, and client communication. The Family Law Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our law office while providing exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of legal documents related to family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
  • Manage case files and maintain organized documentation through effective document management systems.
  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documents while ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Interview clients to gather relevant information and assist in case preparation.
  • Coordinate schedules for court appearances, meetings, and deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
  • Provide executive administrative support including data entry, filing, transcription, and clerical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in all interactions.

Experience

  • Proven paralegal experience with a focus on family law is required; additional experience in areas such as estate planning, immigration law, or personal injury law is a plus.
  • Familiarity with litigation processes and legal case management practices.
  • Proficiency in using legal software such as PCLaw or iManage for document management and billing purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting documents and correspondence; proofreading abilities are essential.
  • Experience with project management principles to effectively oversee case timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective client communication. Projected Total Compensation: $45,000.00 - $71,570.72 per year
