Family Law Paralegal

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support attorneys in managing family law cases, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and related legal matters. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth case progression, accurate document preparation, and effective client communication. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with case management for family law matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
  • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law pertaining to family law and other practice areas such as estate planning, immigration law, and tribal law
  • Prepare and review legal documents using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather essential information for case development
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with court requirements
  • Manage deadlines for filings and court appearances while coordinating schedules for attorneys and clients
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, proofreading legal documents, transcription, and maintaining calendars

Qualifications

  • Paralegal experience with a strong background in family law is required; familiarity with related practice areas such as landlord-tenant law or personal injury law is a plus
  • Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with legal case management software is preferred
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective interviewing skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for client interactions
  • Knowledge of document review processes and familiarity with electronic filing procedures in various courts
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
