Family Law Paralegal

NOVA Legal Professionals is a growing, client-focused family law firm serving Northern Virginia. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Fairfax, VA. About the Role

The Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting attorneys in all phases of family law litigation and settlement. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to case management.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and agreements
  • Manage case files from intake through resolution
  • Prepare and organize exhibits, trial binders, and hearing materials
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and summarizing responses
  • Coordinate filings in Virginia courts, including e-filing where applicable
  • Support attorneys in trial preparation and settlement negotiations

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Familiarity with Virginia court procedures and filing requirements
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
  • Professional, empathetic communication style with clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Clio or similar case management software preferred
