Family Nurse Practitioner

As a Nurse Practitioner in our primary care clinics, you’ll provide compassionate, patient-centered services that support health, wellness, and continuity of care. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to meet patients where they are and help them move toward their health goals.

Full time family nurse practitioner position open in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Practice divided between an atypical clinic location meeting the needs of the traditionally medically underserved at an integrated partner organization and telehealth consultation. Unique position allows for the ability to work from home half of the week. Must have practice experience as an FNP. Key Responsibilities


  • Provides direct patient care to patients within their scope of practice
  • Serves as a resource for consultation and referral for providers for other disciplines
  • Ensures continuity of care for services in conjunction with hospital admissions and specialty referrals
  • Initiates and supports efforts to promote wellness concepts and self-responsibility for health
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs
  • Discusses cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan as needed
  • Provides high quality of care with respect to accepted standards. Participates in peer review process.
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
  • Maintains acceptable patient productivity numbers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Document all appropriate patient activity in EMR and submits office visit billing codes in compliance with CMS coding guidelines
  • Comply with Collaborative Practice Agreement that meets the practice requirements established by Missouri Board of Nursing, Missouri Board of Healing Arts, and Missouri laws, including responsible for submitting charts for review.


Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


QUALIFICATION(S): EDUCATION
Master’s degree from an approved graduate nursing program required

QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Advanced Practice Nurse with active certification for specialty approved by the State of Missouri required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for oversight of subordinate clinical staff as it regards to delivery of care within scope of practice, including appropriate delegation within subordinates’ scope of practice.
