Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary: Provides primary level of care in collaboration with the Tribal Physician and other members of the health care team in the treatment of patients in a medical facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The person fulfilling this position must be capable of performing the following, but not limited to:

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
• Maintain an advanced knowledge base and skill in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, and management of health and illness in the health care of patients.
• Record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the date in the patient's record.
• Assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
• Review the work of staff employees; train new personnel

Education/Experience

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (FNP), and a Cardio Pulmonary Restitution (CPR) certificate is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pharmacy Certificate and Phlebotomy preferred.
• Four to ten years related experience as well as other relevant educational or work experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Tribal Nurse Practitioner may be considered by the Tribal Council.
• A valid California Class C Drivers license and a clear driving record that is acceptable to Table Mountain Rancheria’s insurer are mandatory.
