Family Nurse Practitioner

Schedule:

Pay: $135,000 - $160,000 per year based on experience with productivity bonus

Job description:

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide comprehensive primary care to an unassigned patient panel while also delivering same day urgent care services as needed. This will require strong clinical judgment, efficiency, and the ability to see mostly transition between scheduled primary care visits and walk in urgent care patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage an independent panel with primary care patient's across the life span
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, preventative care visits, chronic disease management, and follow-up appointments.
• Diagnose and treat acute, non life-threatening conditions such as: respiratory infections, UTIs, rashes, sprains/strains, minor injuries, simple lacerations, abscesses (I&D), wound care in an urgent care setting
• Order diagnostic tests including x-rays and ultrasounds as necessary
• Prescribe medications in accordance with State and Federal guidelines
• Provide patient education and follow up instructions
• Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, foreign body removal
• Accurately document the patient encounters using the EMR
• Collaborate with on-call physicians or other providers as needed

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license in Massachusetts
• National certification as a family nurse practitioner (AANP or ANCC)
• Current DEA license
• Current MCSR license
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience in urgent care, family practice or emergency medicine preferred
• Proficient in common urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, I&D, EKG interpretation)
• Strong communication and decision making skills
• Comfortable working independently on weekends as needed

Schedule:

• Full time: 34 hours per week (2 full days required 8:00 am-6:00 pm)
• One weekend shift per month if necessary (8:00 am - 1:00 pm)
