Duties

• Conduct detailed patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as gastroenterology, geriatrics, behavioral health, and infectious disease care.
• Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, and dermal fillers with precision and sterile technique.
• Administer medications via injections or infusion therapies like IV infusion and dialysis, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for documentation of medical records, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), and billing processes aligned with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patient education on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication management, pain control, and disease prevention strategies.
• Participate in triage activities in urgent care or emergency settings; assist with hospital medicine rounds or ICU patient management when needed.
• Support interdisciplinary teams in discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and post-acute care coordination to optimize patient recovery pathways.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current certification from an accredited body (e.g., NCCPA).
• Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU (Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred), or outpatient clinics.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory specimen processing.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with telehealth platforms is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with procedures such as suturing, dermal fillers, spinal taps, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile processing techniques.
• Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious diseases, hospice & palliative medicine, or occupational health issues.
• Excellent communication skills for patient care education and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams; experience working with children and seniors is a plus.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law is advantageous; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes is required.
• Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance while managing sensitive patient information; physical ability to perform clinical duties including standing for extended periods. Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
