Family Practice Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview: The Family Practice Nurse Practitioner will provide consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions of patients at ROADS Community Clinic – East Long Beach. We are looking for a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner with strong experience seeing patients of all ages and committed to helping patients.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience;
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern medicine related to public health services;
• Experience with electronic health records systems;
• Ability to build connections with clients;
• Conscientious self-starter.

Training, Education, and Licensure:

• Current license to practice medicine in California;
• Board certified or Board eligible;
• Current BLS/CPR.

Responsibilities:

• Examine patients, take medical history, record results, and make preliminary diagnosis and/or decide on follow-up procedures;
• Administer and/or order diagnostic tests, blood work, and interpret results;
• Perform therapeutic procedures;
• Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress;
• Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations;
• Provide health education regarding health maintenance especially in the realm of STD prevention;
• Prescreen cases requiring review by the Medical Director;
• Participate in staff and planning meetings as needed;
• Participate in the ROADS Foundation’s ongoing quality assurance monitoring.

Pay: $180,000.00 per year
