Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 per year

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, community-driven Family Support Specialist to mentor and empower parents with children under the age of 3. This role is essential in providing education through group classes and one-on-one mentoring to new and expectant parents, helping them build strong, healthy foundations for their families. A major component of this position involves community outreach—connecting with families, building relationships, and ensuring continued engagement with our programs and services.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide mentoring and support to parents and expecting parents of children under the age of 3.
• Facilitate a minimum of two weekly educational classes focused on parenting, child development, life skills, and personal growth.
• Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions offering emotional support and individualized guidance.
• Perform intake assessments and develop action plans based on family needs, goals, and strengths.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor family progress and provide ongoing support.
• Participate in community outreach and engagement efforts to recruit and retain program participants.
• Coordinate care and referrals to community resources such as housing, employment, healthcare, and legal support.
• Make home visits and deliver supplies/materials when needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and data entry.
• Collaborate with leadership and team members to continuously enhance program delivery.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with families, parents, or young children (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is a plus, but not required
• English speaking (Primary)
• Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with outreach and community engagement
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally (up to 25%)

Schedule & Work Environment:

• Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional weekend or evening hours for community outreach events (as needed)
