Camp Manager Position Summary
The Summer Camp Manager is responsible for the daily operations, administration, and logistics of the camp. This role ensures that programs run smoothly, staff are supported, and systems are in place for communication, safety, and organization.
Qualifications
- Experience in youth programs or education coordination
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Experience collaborating with teams of people
- Ability to manage logistics, schedules, and multiple priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily camp flow, schedules, and transitions
- Ensure all program areas are staffed, prepared, and running on time
- Manage camper group assignments and staffing coverage
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues as they arise
- Handle daily check-in/check-out systems
- Support licensing and regulatory requirements
- Manage staff schedules, breaks, and time-off coverage
- Assist with implementation of training
- Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day parent communication
- Respond to questions, concerns, and schedule updates
- Communicate incidents or issues in a timely, professional manner
- Manage inventory of camp supplies, materials, and equipment
- Coordinate setup and cleanup of camp spaces
- Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and ready for programming
- Maintain daily health logs and incident reports
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures
- Respond to minor incidents and escalate major issues to Director
- Support emergency response procedures
- Assist in implementing camp programs and activities
- Ensure materials and staff are prepared for each day’s programming
- Provide on-the-ground support to ensure program quality
Schedule
- On-site daily during camp season (with pre-season planning support as needed), M-F, 8-4pm
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
