Position Summary:

The General Manager – Mushroom & Compost Production will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of compost manufacturing and mushroom growing processes. The ideal candidate will effectively coordinate across departments, maintain raw material inventory, ensure quality standards, and align production schedules with sales targets. This role is critical in ensuring seamless integration between production, harvest, and sales while upholding the highest operational and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management:

- Oversee the daily production of compost and mushroom growing processes to ensure efficiency and quality.

- Conduct daily evaluations of compost quality and production progress.

- Perform regular rounds of all seven growing rooms to assess growth, production conditions, identify issues, and implement improvements.

2. Coordination and Communication:

- Act as the central point of coordination between multiple departments, including production, harvesting, sales, and logistics.

- Work closely with the sales and harvest teams to align production schedules with market demand and ensure timely product delivery.

3. Inventory and Vendor Management:

- Maintain inventory of essential raw materials, including casing soil, wheat straw, and spawn.

- Establish and manage relationships with vendors to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality raw materials.

- Forecast material requirements and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.

4. Quality Assurance:

- Monitor and maintain high-quality standards for compost and mushrooms throughout the production cycle.

- Identify and address quality issues promptly to minimize waste and improve yields.

5. Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the production and compost teams to achieve operational goals.

- Provide training and support to team members to optimize productivity and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.

6. Strategic Planning and Reporting:

- Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast needs, and develop action plans for improvement.

- Provide regular reports to senior management on production performance, challenges, and areas for improvement.

- Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term planning and growth strategies for the facility.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in production/farm management

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience coordinating across departments.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in data analysis and production planning.

- Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and interdepartmental coordination.

- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs175,000.00 - Rs250,000.00 per month
