Job Title: Draping & Pattern Making Expert

Location: Banjara Hills Campus
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Visiting Faculty / Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Draping & Pattern Making Expert who can train students / assist in production with advanced garment construction techniques. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to translate creative designs into accurate patterns and finished garments.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach / Execute professional draping techniques on dress forms
• Develop accurate patterns from:
• Sketches
• Measurements
• Draped muslins
• Create basic blocks and advanced garment patterns
• Guide students in garment construction and fitting techniques
• Conduct practical demonstrations in:
• Bodice, sleeves, collars, skirts, trousers, gowns
• Structured garments
• Couture techniques (if applicable)
• Supervise fittings and alterations
• Ensure precision in measurements, grading, and pattern corrections
• Maintain studio discipline and workflow

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in:
• Flat pattern making
• Draping on mannequins
• Garment construction
• Knowledge of fabric behavior and fall
• Ability to interpret fashion illustrations into patterns
• Experience in industrial or boutique production (preferred)
• Understanding of grading and size variations
• Attention to detail and finishing

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in draping and pattern making
• Teaching experience (for academic roles)
• Portfolio of garments or technical samples
