Fashion Design Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Fashion Design Teacher for for the 2026-2027 school year at a Jewish independent school in Los Angeles, CA.

Essential Duties:

  • Teach five courses for middle and upper school students on fashion and design arts.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams to align art curriculum with school-wide learning objectives.
  • Design and implement curriculum and lesson plans that build the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively teach students at the assigned grade level.
  • Use a variety of different materials to diversify student experiences in art making
  • Evaluate each student’s progress in their knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, and professional development sessions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the K-12 preferred.
  • Proficiency in Fashion Design including draping, flat pattern making, hand and machine sewing, fitting, and basic fashion sketching required.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other digital art platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
  • Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.


Additional Desired Qualities:

  • Willingness to work with middle or high school students.
  • Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
  • Previous experience teaching other art styles preferred.
