Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Restaurant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across our fast casual restaurant location in University City. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates leadership under pressure, and maintains exceptional standards of food quality, service, and team culture. This position plays a vital role in ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and the ongoing success of our growing restaurant group.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the Franklin’s Table location to ensure profitability and smooth service.
- Manage and assist with all catering operations, including pickups, drop-offs, and food truck events for both Korea Taqueria and PaperMill.
- Lead and supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff, ensuring consistent quality, speed, and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain prompt and reliable communication with the leadership team via Slack and other channels.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Staff Management & Training
- Recruit, onboard, and train new team members to uphold brand standards in food prep, service, and hospitality.
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance feedback to staff of varying experience levels.
- Foster a positive and professional team culture centered on accountability, cleanliness, and respect.
- Develop weekly staff schedules that balance operational efficiency with labor cost targets.
Customer Experience
- Drive excellence in guest service and hospitality, actively implementing strategies to improve satisfaction and increase tip averages.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively, ensuring every guest leaves happy.
- Support social media and promotional efforts for monthly specials and events.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Monitor and minimize Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) by reducing waste, optimizing ordering, and repurposing oversupply creatively.
- Accurately forecast, order, and maintain inventory levels for both restaurant and mobile operations.
- Collaborate with ownership on menu planning, pricing, and product development.
- Manage cash handling, deposits, and basic financial reporting in alignment with business procedures.
Facilities & Equipment
- Maintain kitchen equipment and facilities; escalate repair needs promptly to business leadership.
- Ensure all workstations are clean, organized, and maintained to food safety standards throughout the shift.
Performance & Accountability
- Arrive punctually to all shifts and maintain professional reliability. Notify management promptly of lateness or absence that may materially impact operations.
- Take initiative in solving operational, mechanical, and interpersonal issues in real-time.
Qualifications
- Food manager license in the city of Philadelphia
- 2+ years of management experience in a fast casual or quick service restaurant environment.
- Proven track record of team leadership, staff training, and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and restaurant health codes.
- Proficiency with POS systems (Toast preferred) and basic reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be hands-on, positive, and committed to upholding company standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,976.64 - $52,961.11 per year
