Community Mediation Services, Inc. seeks a qualified Program Director to oversee the Fatherhood Program, operating at our Jamaica headquarters and Queensbridge Houses site in Long Island City. This role will lead programming designed to support fathers in strengthening relationships with their children, co-parents, and communities while promoting self-sufficiency. Fathers will be engaged in a combination of case management, parenting skills training, support groups, family events, and community projects.
Some responsibilities may include:
- Provide overall leadership for Fatherhood Program at both program sites which includes management, program delivery, community outreach, staff supervision, and partnership development.
- Recruit, interview, screen potential staff and assist with outreach, recruitment, and retention of program participants
- Track, input and review participant data
- Monitor the fiscal needs of the program
- Ensure contractual compliance with staffing, outcomes, reporting, and contract deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field and at least two years of supervisory experience working with City systems such as public assistance, child support, child welfare, education and/or housing; or an associate’s degree with extensive experience
- Knowledge and experience in family development, reentry, or child welfare preferred
- Experience in program oversight and cross-sector collaboration
- Strong skills in outreach, networking, and building relationships with stakeholders
- Must be available to manage a flexible full-time schedule, as responsibilities include some evening and weekend commitments.
