JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient service in a Cafe/Restaurant setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Greeting Guests: Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, creating a positive first impression and setting the tone for their dining experience.
  • Managing Reservations: Handle reservations efficiently, ensuring that the seating arrangements are organized and accommodating to guests’ preferences.
  • Seating Guests: Assign tables to guests based on their party size and preferences, while considering the flow of service and the restaurant’s layout.
  • Maintaining Waitlists: Keep an accurate waitlist during busy periods, communicating estimated wait times to guests and ensuring they are informed throughout the process.
  • Providing Information: Offer guests information about the menu, daily specials, and restaurant policies, enhancing their dining experience and helping them make informed choices.
  • Coordinating with Staff: Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and timely service, contributing to a cohesive team environment.
  • Handling Customer Inquiries: Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Managing the Host Stand: Maintain an organized and clean host stand, ensuring that menus, reservation books, and other materials are readily available and presentable.
  • Upselling and Promoting Specials: Encourage guests to try special menu items or promotions, contributing to increased sales and enhancing the overall dining experience.
  • Managing Guest Feedback: Collect and relay guest feedback to management, helping to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall service quality.
  • Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere: Foster a friendly and inviting atmosphere through positive interactions and attentiveness, making guests feel valued and appreciated.
  • Assisting with Takeout Orders: Support the takeout process by coordinating orders and ensuring that guests receive their food promptly and accurately.
