The Food & Beverage Supervisor with high-end healthy coffee shop experience is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a premium, health-focused coffee shop. This role ensures that all staff deliver exceptional service, quality beverages, and food products that align with the establishment's wellness-oriented ethos. The Supervisor will provide leadership, maintain a strong focus on customer service, manage operational efficiency, and foster a culture of health-conscious offerings within the coffee shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Staff Management:
- Lead and manage a team of baristas, servers, and kitchen staff with a focus on health-conscious coffee and food offerings.
- Train and coach staff on healthy food preparation, the art of brewing high-quality coffee, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Manage the scheduling of staff to ensure proper coverage during peak hours, ensuring the team is efficient and motivated.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and offer ongoing training to ensure high standards.
- Guest Experience and Service:
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a welcoming, health-focused environment and providing personalized service.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly, professionally, and ensure resolution aligns with the brand’s values.
- Oversee the preparation and service of specialty healthy drinks, organic coffees, smoothies, and nourishing food items such as gluten-free or plant-based options.
- Ensure all guests' dietary restrictions, preferences, and wellness goals are met through menu customization and careful attention to detail.
- Quality Control and Menu Oversight:
- Ensure the quality and consistency of beverages, including coffee, matcha lattes, and specialty drinks, as well as the food offerings like bowls, salads, and wraps.
- Maintain standards for organic and locally-sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and sustainability in every product served.
- Regularly taste and assess offerings to guarantee they meet established quality standards.
- Keep up to date with emerging health and wellness trends to suggest new offerings that align with the coffee shop's concept.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the coffee shop to ensure smooth and efficient service from opening to closing.
- Maintain an organized and clean environment, ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage the coffee shop’s inventory, ensuring stock levels of high-end coffee beans, organic produce, health-conscious food items, and related supplies are well-maintained.
- Ensure the correct operation of high-end coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and blenders, and troubleshoot when needed.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices in line with healthy and clean eating standards.
- Maintain proper food handling procedures, including allergen management, to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and ensure all staff are trained in food safety best practices.
- Financial and Inventory Management:
- Assist with inventory management, including stock ordering, receiving, and rotation, to ensure the smooth supply of ingredients and products.
- Track daily sales and manage the coffee shop’s financial performance to meet cost control targets, such as minimizing food waste and optimizing labor costs.
- Participate in setting up budget forecasts and sales targets, assisting in strategies to maximize revenue.
- Customer Engagement and Community Building:
- Create and maintain relationships with regular customers, ensuring they feel welcome and valued with a focus on health-conscious offerings.
- Lead efforts to build a loyal customer base by introducing loyalty programs, promotions, and health-centric events.
- Foster a sense of community within the coffee shop, such as hosting wellness events or workshops focused on nutrition, fitness, or mindfulness.
- Brand Promotion and Marketing:
- Work with the management team to execute marketing initiatives that highlight the coffee shop's unique focus on healthy living, organic ingredients, and wellness.
- Suggest new menu items, seasonal promotions, and special offerings to drive foot traffic and build a strong brand presence in the local market.
- Participate in social media and marketing efforts, promoting the coffee shop’s wellness-based offerings and lifestyle brand.
- Sustainability and Environmental Impact:
- Champion sustainability by ensuring the use of eco-friendly packaging, minimizing waste, and promoting a zero-waste environment.
- Source sustainable, fair-trade coffee beans, organic ingredients, and eco-conscious products in line with the brand's environmental values.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a high-end coffee shop, café, or restaurant with a focus on healthy, organic, or wellness-oriented offerings.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a health-focused food and beverage environment.
- Strong knowledge of high-quality coffee preparation, espresso machines, health-conscious food preparation, and sustainable sourcing practices.
