Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily terminal operations under the FedEx Ground ISP contract, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant package delivery services. This role leads drivers and support staff, manages routes and resources, and maintains performance standards in alignment with FedEx Ground requirements and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dispatch operations, including route planning, driver assignments, and workload balancing
• Supervise and coach delivery drivers to ensure safety, productivity, and service performance
• Ensure compliance with FedEx Ground policies, DOT regulations, and company procedures
• Monitor key performance indicators including service, safety, reliability, and cost control
• Manage timecards, attendance, and workforce scheduling
• Conduct ride-alongs, performance evaluations, and root-cause analysis for service failures
• Coordinate vehicle readiness, preventive maintenance, and equipment availability
• Lead safety meetings and enforce company safety culture and standards
• Serve as primary point of contact between FedEx Ground terminal management and company leadership
• Handle customer escalations, driver issues, and operational challenges in real time

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or delivery management experience
• Prior experience with FedEx Ground or another last-mile delivery operation strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak seasons

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
