About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated attorney with at least two years of litigation experience, ideally in federal sector employment matters. If you are detail-oriented, well-organized, and experienced in direct client contact, this role offers the chance to take on meaningful litigation work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This position can be part-time or full-time.

This position involves litigating employment disputes on behalf of federal employees before the EEOC, MSPB, and other administrative forums. Hearings are handled almost exclusively via Zoom, allowing for efficient and effective advocacy without extensive travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for federal employees in employment matters involving discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, disability accommodations, disciplinary actions, and similar situations.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, handled from initial consultation to final resolution.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and depositions, primarily before EEOC and MSPB administrative judges.
  • Draft complaints, appeals, motions, discovery, and legal briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and case analysis to develop strategic advocacy approaches.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and federal agency contacts.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and case management documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and an active law license in good standing from at least one U.S. state.

2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law, civil rights law, or administrative law.

  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, legal CRM platforms (e.g. Clio), and cloud-based document management.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to provide empathetic client service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience litigating federal employment cases before the EEOC, MSPB, or other administrative forums.
  • Familiarity with federal employment laws, including Title VII, the Rehabilitation Act, the Whistleblower Protection Act, and due process rights for federal employees.
  • Experience with remote litigation and working in a fully virtual law practice.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay: $60 - $75 per billable hour, commensurate with experience.
