Description:
Ancon Group is seeking two experienced Federal Workers’ Compensation Specialists to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Human Resources (AHR).
This role supports DOT-wide Workers’ Compensation claims management and ensures compliance with the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA) and Department of Labor (DOL)/OWCP regulations.
The selected candidate will provide expert-level case management, regulatory interpretation, return-to-work coordination, and financial oversight for federal workers’ compensation claims.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

Apply expert knowledge of FECA and OWCP regulations.

Conduct comprehensive review of OWCP claims to determine:
- Eligibility for medical benefits
- Wage loss benefits
- Return-to-duty options
- Reemployment and vocational rehabilitation potential
- Manage complex workers’ compensation case files.

Review and interpret medical documentation.

Provide return-to-work case management strategies.

Analyze chargeback reports and recommend cost-containment strategies.

Develop agency-wide workers’ compensation case management procedures.

Communicate complex regulatory guidance to:
- Injured employees
- Supervisors
- Senior leadership
- Prepare formal case documentation and compliance reports.

Ensure full compliance with workers’ compensation laws and DOT/FAA policy.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years relevant experience or equivalent years of direct federal workers’ compensation experience.

Prior federal claims examiner experience.

Strong knowledge of the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA).

Experience working with OWCP claims.

Experience using ECOMP (Employee Compensation Operations Management Portal).

Skill in reviewing OWCP claims for medical and wage loss eligibility.

Experience facilitating return-to-work case management.

Strong analytical skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior FAA or DOT experience.

Experience analyzing chargeback reports.

Experience implementing cost-containment strategies.

Experience developing agency workers’ compensation procedures.

Ability to lead projects and advise senior-level officials.
