FedEx Ground Business Contact (Manager)

PackageOne, Inc., a local FedEx Ground contractor, is hiring an experienced Business Contact (BC Manager) to help manage our operations in the Newport News building. The manager will need to have a daily presence in the building and build strong working relationships with terminal staff and drivers.

Ideal Candidate:

- Must be a current qualified FedEx Driver with some amount of BC experience

- Have a strong work ethic and drive

- Good communication skills

- Problem solving skills are a must have – be able to make decisions on the fly to manage the completion of the day

- Ability to understand the metrics of the business and make plans to succeed on a daily basis

Responsibilities:

- Arrive at the terminal by 8am daily

- Assign route assignments and complete dispatch each morning

- Make sure all drivers are set up to succeed that day (door tags, rain bags, etc.)

- Work with terminal staff to complete anything needed from the current or prior day

- Make sure drivers complete pre and post trip inspections of vehicles

- Make sure all package pick-ups are completed daily within their respective windows

- Make sure all package deliveries are attempted and that any codes used are appropriate

- Assist drivers to complete routes when needed, this may require running full routes on some days

- Coordinate vehicle maintenance as needed

- Hold weekly staff meeting to discuss current topics with drivers

- Communicate daily with AO, post-dispatch and end of day at a minimum

Must live within 30 minutes of the terminal. This is a 6 day a week operation and may require long hours some days.

Compensation

$60k -$70k salary based on prior experience.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
