Female Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Overview
Serenity Alliance HC Inc. is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home and community support to an adult female receiving In home support services.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, and passionate about supporting individuals with physical disabilities to live safely and comfortably in their homes and community.

Duties

• The DSP will provide hands-on support and supervision including:
• Assisting with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene)
• Supporting safe transfers between wheelchair, bed, shower chair, and other surfaces
• Assisting with positioning and mobility needs
• Providing support with catheter and ostomy care (training provided if needed)
• Monitoring for health concerns including pressure injuries, swelling due to lymphedema, dehydration, and other medical risks
• Assisting with meal preparation and healthy food choices
• Supporting light housekeeping and laundry
• Assisting with community outings
• Supporting attendance at medical appointments
• Providing companionship and social engagement
• Ensuring the individual's health, safety, and dignity at all times

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with autism is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> (personal assistance devices)
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, families, and healthcare professionals
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of individual's information at all times
• Ability to pass background check and required training
• Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
