Fertility Insurance Specialist / Financial Counselor

Overview
The IVF Center Insurance + Financial Specialist is responsible for fulfilling daily financial responsibilities within the fertility clinic. This includes billing processes, insurance benefits verification, insurance claims entry and aging, patient pre and post cycle collections, payment posting, and providing financial guidance to patients. The role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and knowledge of healthcare billing practices specific to fertility treatments.

Duties

Financial Management:

• Daily billing office operations, including patient billing, invoicing, and collections.
• Process patient payments and manage any outstanding balances, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle financial discrepancies and follow up on unpaid or denied insurance claims.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly documented and tracked.

Insurance Coordination:

• Collaborate with insurance providers to verify patient coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for fertility treatments.
• Manage the submission and follow-up of insurance claims for fertility services.
• Provide patients with clear explanations of insurance benefits, payment options, and out-of-pocket costs.

Patient Financial Counseling:

• Offer financial counseling to patients regarding the cost of fertility treatments and payment plan options.
• Provide guidance on available financing programs and help patients understand their financial responsibilities.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle patient financial information in accordance with privacy regulations.

Compliance & Auditing:

• Ensure all financial practices align with applicable healthcare regulations, including billing and reimbursement policies.
• Participate in periodic financial audits and address any discrepancies or issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial management, billing, or accounting, ideally within a healthcare or fertility clinic setting.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, medical billing codes, and claims processing in a healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and relevant financial software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with both patients and clinic staff.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
