Fertilizer & Herbicide Technician

NOW HIRING Fertilizer Technician!

Pro-Mow Lawn Care & Landscaping has positions available for full time seasonal employees on our fertilization and weed control crews. Our Fertilizer Techs are trained in proper application of both granular and liquid fertilizers and herbicides. An Illinois Pesticide General Standards license is required. Those interested in obtaining the license are encouraged to apply. The process is simple and Pro-Mow assists with upfront licensing fees.

Our Fertilizer Technicians do the following tasks:

  • Work alone throughout the day -- familiarity with working alone or those who are self starters are encouraged to apply!
  • Apply fertilizer and herbicide to our customer's yards throughout the year
  • Apply weed control to pavements, parking lots and landscape beds
  • Maintain equipment by keeping it clean and refilling supplies when needed
  • Track product usage
  • Properly mix chemicals with correct ratios
  • Assist with aerating and overseeding customer lawns in the Spring and Fall

A typical schedule is Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm. Friday and Saturday work may be mandatory at times.

You have:

  • A love for working outdoors
  • An ability to regularly lift 50lb bags of fertilizer and operate ride-on machinery, as well as hand tools
  • A valid driver's license
  • A current Illinois Pesticide License, or the desire to take the one-day course to earn one
  • Great attention to detail and a good attitude
